As a Pre-School Music Education Expert and a Mom, I have a passion for both excellent music and exceptional books. Inspiring a love of books within your children is a gift that will last a lifetime. That is why my father-in-law and I wrote the song, “Tell Me A Story.” Reading to my children each and every night was part of their bedtime routine. I would scour library shelves looking for books with positive messages that tickled the imagination. Now, even though my children are adults, I am still on the look-out for great books. I’m happy to have them in my home. A great book is always a wonderful discovery and today I have found one I want to share with you.
This book is called “A Quest For Good Manners,” winner of the Mom’s Choice Gold Award Honoring Excellence, written by Karin Lefranc and illustrated by Hannah Neale. The book is all about “embarking on a fun adventure in search of good manners!” With bright, colorful illustrations, children join Princess Rosalind and her pet dragon, Sparkler, as they embark on a mission to find Good Manners. This is an easy read, demonstrating to children why simple words such as “I am sorry, please, thank you, and you’re welcome” are special words that can solve many problems. Through their adventures, Princess Rosalind and Sparkler also learn that good manners are the foundation for kindness and consideration of others.
All parents want their children to have manners and this book is the perfect way to encourage using them. Anyone who either has children or works with them should own this book. You will not be disappointed. As you and your children embark on this adventure with Rosalind and her pet dragon, you will be delighted with the transformation of both the characters and ultimately, your children.
