November 8, 2012—The Holidays are coming!
It has been a whirlwind of events here in my area over the past couple of weeks. To begin with, about 3 weeks ago or so New Hampshire experienced an earthquake. This was felt throughout New England causing everyone to scratch their heads in amazement. Then last week we endured Hurricane Sandy. This storm caused major damage throughout southern New England, including Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, not to mention the Appalachians where they were dumped on with tons of snow. I did not lose my power, however, many others did and some are STILL without power eleven days later. To top it all off, yesterday we had a Nor’easter! SNOW! Don’t get me wrong, I really do like snow, but not before Thanksgiving! Needless to say, all these various weather related issues have been getting my attention and keeping me busy. After a morning school delay caused by very slippery roads I was able to get to one of my preschools and do music with them. Then I made it into a grocery store for the first time in several days. I stopped. I stared. It was true; there before me were all of the necessary items displayed that folks purchase for their Thanksgiving Dinners. I was stunned as it sunk in that Thanksgiving is two weeks from today. It caught me completely off guard!
I always host Thanksgiving with both sides of my family coming to enjoy a wonderful day together. Then I look forward to shopping the day after Thanksgiving. The Holidays thrill me. However, right now—at this very moment, I am overwhelmed! How did we get from October to almost Thanksgiving in a heartbeat? That’s when I started thinking about the gifts I need to purchase for the special children in my life. It’s time to start making lists and searching for gifts. As my mind raced with thoughts of where to get started I realized I had the perfect solution! If you have young, preschool children, go online to Reagan’s Toy Chest! www.reaganstoychest.com Lanaya Cooper has put together a fabulous collection of high quality children’s toys and unique gifts that are sure to please any of the children you love. As she states, “everything in her website has been tested by parents and kids alike for usability, entertainment value and educational value.” You will find exceptional items such as activity tables, pretend play, gift baskets, mobile toys, kitchen sets, wagons, trains, planes, rockers, puzzles, musical instruments, items to excite the little artist within your children, to name just a few.
This is the website to visit when the holidays get busy and you need to find the perfect gift without lines, crowds or frustration. These gifts will put a smile on both your face and your child’s. As Lanaya points out, there are only 47 days until Christmas!
So, as the Holidays approach, take a deep breath. Believe me, I know there is a lot of work to accomplish in the weeks ahead, but do take the time to enjoy it. Take a minute to watch the excitement grow in your children’s eyes and be sure to visit www.reaganstoychest.com to find the perfect gift. The shopping will be peaceful, you won’t have to drive and there will still be time to put your feet up, have a cup of tea and nibble on a delicious leftover treat from Thanksgiving dinner!
