September 11, 2013—The Anniversary of 9/11.
Twelve years ago today the unthinkable happened. Innocent people lost their lives at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and in a field in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Everyone knows where they were and what they were doing on this terrible day in history. Many of us have stories of family members affected or someone they knew who was there.
I think it is important when we remember the 12th anniversary of this horrible situation that we focus on the bravery of so many, not the evil darkness of the perpetrator.
On that day so many people were brave, thought of others, reached out to help, and put themselves in harm’s way to assist those in need. On that day we saw the stark difference between good and evil. I will focus on the good. I will remember those who demonstrated bright lights of caring and unselfishness. Those people and their amazing deeds will live on in all of our hearts forever.
In memory of that fateful day, I send my love to the families who lost loved ones and my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in spite of their own fears. America is a good country and we are a good people who live here. God Bless America.
