May 27, 2014—The Resurgence of the Rocking Horse!
According to an article by Lesley Barker, eHow Contributor, there is a resurgence of the rocking horse. He states that people have been giving rocking horses to their children since the 15th century. With the creation of automobiles, the popularity of giving children rocking horses declined. However, with the invention of plastics, rocking horses regained their place as a favorite toy. It has become popular, once again, to carve rocking horses out of hardwood. As a result, all sorts of rocking horses are for sale today.
When I read this it put a smile on my face. My favorite toy as a child was my rocking horse. I spent many happy hours rocking back and forth with reckless abandon, head thrown back, going on trips with my rocking horse to wherever my imagination would take me.
What about you? Did you have a favorite toy as a child? If you did, stop for a moment and recall how special that toy was to you—how did it make you feel? Where is it now?
This coming Friday, May 30th, 2014, I will be at Book Expo America, autographing our book, Rockrhydin, in the Moms Choice Award Booth, #2767-2768 from 2-3 p.m.
This is a story that plays on the heartstrings of our childhood memories. It appeals to adults and enchants children.
Please stop by the booth and experience the magical wink of an eye Jon Michael and his rocking horse, Rockrhydin, share one very special Christmas.
It will make your heart smile!
